Review 6 : Movie "The Forest"

Film “The Forest”

            The Forest is a title of horror movie. It is not like other horror movies. This movie has a good moral value for the viewers. There is no porn content in this film, so I think this is a good film. The film tells us about a love from twins who can feel each other condition. It teaches us to do our best effort to save our family.

            The title of this film is so simple. It will create many interpretations when people read this title. I also have some interpretations for this title. At first, I think this film will tell about a journey or an adventure of the characters just like “Journey to The Center of The Earth” film. I don’t have any idea that this film will have a horror genre. After I watched this film, I can be sure that this film is a horror film. But I think, this is not too scary for me.

            This film has a progressive plot. I can understand why Sara (the main character) as soon as possible goes to Japan. Absolutely, she wants to find her sister (her twin). Then, this film shows us the journey from Sara who is making hard effort to find her sister. The story of this film is told in well order. So, it won’t make the viewers to be confused.

Part by part will ask the viewers to guess what will happen next. As I watched, I can guess what will happen and my guess is right. However, this story of this film is easy to predict. I think, the writer should make the story to be more unique, so the viewers won’t be able to predict it. When it happens, this film will be better than now.

The writer puts the local culture into this film. It is in the form of a legend of a place. Here, there is a legend about the forest. People who come to the forest will be died. It is because several years ago, the forest was used to suicide by people who were desperate with their life. So, in the forest, there are many spirits who can’t rest in peace. The spirits will influence the people who come to do suicide as they do. For your information, the story is based on the legend that is risen up in this film. I don’t know whether the legend truly exists or not.

This film also shows us another side of twin. Besides they are quite similar, they also can feel each other. They will know if something happen to one of them. In this film, show this side from the beginning. Sara can feel that Jessy (her twin) is not dead. At the end of this film, Jessy feels the silence. The silence means that one of them (Sara) has been dead.

This director makes this film well. This film can ensure the viewer that what happen in this film is true. As like when it tells about the legend, I have nearly believed with it. I also believe that the twin can feel each other condition. It is very awesome.
